Reliance Street
Date: 23 Jan 2021
The Reliance St Waste process site is the largest of 3 SUEZ Waste recycling and recovery sites that Rollins Group has worked upon for our Client I&H Brown. This project falls part of the GMCA’s (Greater Manchester Combined Authority) drive to improve their waste recycling facilities. The Reliance St project; located in Newton Heath, Greater Manchester, includes the demolition and rebuild of an existing waste process building. The new building will comprise of a split-level construction consisting of a main waste process building that will receive and process waste before it travels to a compactor building for the waste compaction and removal. There will also be a new bespoke combined LV Distribution Kiosk and MCC (Motor Control Centre) room in the form of a GRP building.
Rollins Group, after being involved in the initial decommissioning of all electrical services, prior to demolition, began a full comprehensive design of all new electrical services as follows;
- Transformer Upgrade
- LV Distribution
- Sub Distribution
- PFC requirements
- Odour Control Panel
- 230v Power
- 110v Power
- Lighting and emergency lighting systems including the use of remote winch systems to negate the need for future high level access.
Following a successful Electrical design we are now at the early stages of the project on site and making great progress with the new electrical installation works. We expect Electrical commissioning of all new systems to be completed in May 2021 in readiness for the new waste to arrive!
